Cigars for Weddings

16 Jun

“Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us (cigar lovers) togeder tooday.”

Okay, sorry for being nerdy but I loved the movie The Princess Bride….

Any-who, I was thinking since so many of us men get married and so often the bride gets to choose everything in the wedding, that choosing your cigar as a gift or to just enjoy at your wedding is pretty important!

Here is what I was thinking:

You are gonna want something that is medium/mild bodied…cause not everyone likes full bodied smokes and I think most people can enjoy a medium or mild smoke even if they prefer something stronger…Also, the guys you give them to probably do not smoke at all, so don’t overwhelm them!  Plus, they might not want to smell super smokey (because they have spouses too :) )!

I would also recommend Tubo packaged cigars.  You probably know that Tubos (translated tubes) are cigars that come in a sealed tube so that you can easily gift them or whatever!  Tubos are great cigars to hand out to people because they wont get damaged and will stay fresh longer…You get the idea…you don’t what your gifts to be presented poorly.

Size is also a factor to include because many of your guests aren’t regular smokers and the time to smoke may be limited because you will probably be pretty busy.  So a smaller stick is ideal (like a Robusto).

So, with all of these factors combined, I have compiled a list of cigars that might be perfect for your wedding!

Here is the list:

Montecristo Platinum Rothchild Natural Rated 96 on Famous and $88 for box of 15. These look so sleek in the platinum looking tube and for a price that is really not that bad at all!

Montecristo White Court (tube)  Rated 95 on Famous and $99 for box of 15.  They also have nice, sleek tubes but they are white so it already has that wedding vibe.  These might be a little pricey .

Macanudo Court Cafe Tubos Rated 85 on Famous and $56 for box of 30.  The tubos are nice and white and the price is not bad at all.  Macanudo’s are the best selling cigars in America for a reason and these look like they were designed for weddings.

Romeo y Julieta Rothschild (Robusto) en Tubo Rated 82 and $40 for a box of 10.  These guys look great and R&J is normally a fantastic smoke.  Pricey for the bad reviews so you could just be buying the name.

Maker’s Mark 562 Topedo Cigars on Famous Smoke Shop comes in a box of 16 for a “sale price” of $124 which is not too terrible of a deal.  These are cool cause they come in a glass tube and are pretty small.  However, the box is pretty cheesy looking…so you will probably want to pass them out in a different way.

THESE ONES ARE FLAVORED:

CAO Moontrance Tubo Rated 92 on Famous and $34 for a box of 20.  These are flavored cigars that have raving reviews even with people who don’t like flavored cigars.  I think the tubes look cool too.

CAO Eileen’s Dream Tubo Rated 95 on Famous and $34 for a box of 20.  These tubos look a little a different on the outside (clovers)… There is also no written reviews…Still great price for the 95 rating! Irish Cream & white chocolate truffles, hazelnut, almond, cocoa and vanilla extracts…who doesn’t love that?

CAO Bella Vanilla Tubos Rated 91 on Famous and $34 for a box of 20.  These too are flavored (vanilla) so most people will love the aroma but some won’t like the taste…These are also cheap.

Note: the reason I didn’t put the CAO Cherrybomb Tubos up was because the tubes look too girly and cherry flavor cigars might be a hit or miss and remind people of Swisher Sweets…(this is just my opinion)

Please keep in mind that I have never tried any of these cigars…I have only just researched what I believe would be great cigars for great weddings.
