Valentines Day Smoke 2011

17 Feb

Okay, so I didn’t actually smoke on Valentines Day because I was sick but I made up for it by saving my Godiva Truffles that I received for Valentine’s Day for tonight.  I smoked a chocolate cigar that I think Mike bought from a Dominican trip (I’ve been waiting to smoke it with something like Godiva).  Let me just say…It matched perfectly!  The burn on this mysterious (don’t know who made it) stick was excellent!  It was hand-made,mild to medium, and sweet with an accentuating flavor of cocoa that didn’t take away from the natural tobacco and characteristics of a quality cigar.  A little sweetened chocolate tip was nice too.  From past experiences,  flavored cigars have been pretty disappointing but this one was exceptionally good!  I think I will have to reconsider reviewing flavored cigars in the future.

Since I went with a ton of friends to the local “Blaze” Hookah Lounge I also enjoyed hookah with flavors like Double Apple, Skittles, Red Bull, and Peach.  While chilling with friends I decided to get my favorite drink there called “Drank”.  It apparently has natural ingredients that contain Melatonin.  Melatonin is what makes you tired and relaxed (like Turkey at Thanksgiving).  In my opinion, Drank has the flavor of grape but it tastes less sugary and more refreshing than let’s say a traditional soda.  It also paired nicely with fruity Hookah.

New Buisness Cards

14 Feb

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

Something I was pondering for today was that Valentine’s Day, for many, is a day of hope and not love.  So if you are in love, enjoy, and if you are single, there is always next year :) .

Our new cards look pretty good I think!  What do you think?

My First Smoke

08 Feb

Alright, so this may not be as interesting to you as some others…but I would bet someone would like to chat about their first smokes.

As I recall, my first ever stick was a cheap cherry cigar from a corner drug store.  I received it as a gift at my friend’s 18th birthday party.  It was machine made and pretty terrible.  At the time, I thought it was cool because it was like receiving a driver’s license or a car for the first time.  I just felt like a man while playing cards with my buds and smoking.

My first taste of a premium smoke was Mike’s Bolivar Royal Corona back in 2008.  It really was wonderful and is probably what catalyst my interest in cigars.

My own first cigar was a Rocky Patel Junior Connecticut.  I figured it would be good first because it so was nice and small (4×38) and on the mild side!  Plus, I was by myself so I didn’t want to smoke too long.  I would highly recommend them for these purposes.  They are well crafted and I didn’t see much loss of flavor because of their small size.  Famous Smoke Shop customers rated them at a 91 which I believe they rightfully deserve.

So what’s your first smoke? Feel free to comment!
